Civil Rights Lawyers for School Issues
2 – Sex Based Discrimination
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes it clear that discrimination based on sex or gender will not be tolerated.
- Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in public schools and colleges and universities.
- It is currently being litigated whether Title IX applies to transgender students, but my guess is that it will and it should.
If you feel as though your child has been discriminated against on the basis of sex, you may want to consult with a civil rights lawyer that handles school related issues.
